BrightEye™ is a high-resolution, scintillator-based dosimetry system designed for real-time monitoring of high-energy radiation beams, particularly in advanced radiotherapy techniques like FLASH. It combines a low-afterglow scintillator screen that emits visible light proportional to the dose received, a digital camera that captures the scintillation light at high frame rates, and software that analyzes the captured images in real-time to generate information about the beam delivery, including total dose, dose rate, dose per pulse, number of pulses, and spatial parameters such as flatness and symmetry. The BrightEye™ system features proprietary, patent-pending technology developed by BrightComSol and is currently designated for research use only (RUO). It is undergoing validation at multiple leading research centers.
Total Dose
BrightEye™ delivers accurate real-time measurement of total delivered dose and compares the planned and delivered dose in real time, ensuring immediate validation and correction if needed. unlike the Gafchromic film which required 24 development time, BrightEye™ delievred the information instantly.
Dose Rate
BrightEye™ measure the dose per individual pulse accurately, ensuring each pulse is delivered according to the treatment plan. It provides detailed information on every individual pulse, which is critical when precise thresholds must be met to trigger the FLASH effect for maximum efficiency and lower side effecs
Number of Pulses
BrightEye™ counts the number of pulses in real-time. This enables intelligent control for providing immediate feedback to the LINAC system for automatically stopping or continuing beam delivery based on pulse count accuracy which prevents dangerous cumulative over- or under-dosing for the ancer patint.
Flatness & Symmetry
BrightEye™ measures the flatness and symmetry of the beam in real time, ensuring that the radiation beam delivers the planned dose evenly across the treatment area , confirming both patient safety and machine performance. This precise monitroring help radiptherpay machine producers comply with regulatory standards.
Feedback loop
BrightEye™ continuously compares the actual beam delivery with the expected dose rate and if the measured dose rate deviates beyond a predefined tolerance, BrightEye™ can automatically correct or stop the beam delivery to ensure that the patient receives the personalized planned dose accurately and safely.
